this can’t be…

another jolt, one more sweep down many feet

heart skips then jumps up and gets tuck in my throat

turbulent weather gory details, no, this can’t be

so soon? so sudden?

No! this can’t be!

I hold my little darling’s hand

she looks up with twinkling eyes

sparkle in her’s transfers infectiously into mine

she loves the roller coaster ride

she loves the uncertainty of life

she knows my hands are larger

she has known me from the fragrance of my bosom

she knows when I hold her close no harm will be done

I know I have to keep her faith from fledgling

I have to be upright and not fiddle

I have to keep a brave front for she believes in me

another jolt and I smile at her

she reciprocates and I am elated

we both give out a hearty laugh

people look at us, their eyes sunk in

fear drooling out dripping all around

I question their sights through my eyes

no, this can’t be

So soon? So sudden?

Never!
