riding on the waves of time

I swim across this river of memories

and gulp down tonnes of water

to come to my senses and drown deeper

as I wade through the weeds of time

my arms entangled, my feet caught in webs

my hair a thick mass struck to my shoulders

as I try to break free from

the pull of shallow waters

I reach across that stream of flowers

and touch these swollen fingers

to feel your warmth, to sink in wine

drowned deeper I do not know

how to quench my deepest fears

shall I turn the tide of memories

upside down and dive further

shall I stay ashore and lie on the beach

face down and moorings dug

shall I come following you

and mark my footsteps all the way

for blood hunters to keep this trail

wet and fragrant reachable from skies above

but how do I cut short this path

and reach there within no time

for riding on the waves of time

I swim across this river of memories

and reach this island uninhabited

how do I caress myself

how do I tap my shoulder

where do I lay my head

to cry aloud

to throw a laughter

up in the sky

low with the tide

what do I do with my smiles

where do I throw my glance

and how do I keep us warm

during this endless winter…
