another evening

Evening has stopped by

On the leaves

On the surface of the water in the bowl

On the grain birds left behind for tomorrow

On the dust of the temple bell

On the chirps that break this evening intermittently

On my hands that refuse to budge

sit askance we await

For the wind to blow

For the evening to lift this stagnant mood

To flow the time on the surface of this vaccum

To let the sounds fill the silence of this gloom

I twit my fingers till they agree to budge

Finally I see the orange ball dip down

To make a splash there

On the other shores

A lightening swish passes through my veins

And my horizon whispers a loud hello….

Do I complain?

If I ever complained to you O wind
blow me away to the shores
where souls land to recuperate
where bodies enamoured of choicest embellishments
land from the skies and regain best of health
where I can regain to oscillate on my axis
and follow all the atoms those obey rules
if I ever happened to be in your way O’ wind
suck me in your folds and let me inhale
all the beauties that befall on you
for this life has spoken to me umpteen times
to not to get frightened for the nights shine brighter
the days are milder and the rains are smoother
if you make me merge in myriad hues of hearts’ desires
if I ever happened to unfollow you O’ wind
make my gait sharpened
flip me if you will
but pray not let the pain touch my soul
for here I need to rest for the remainder of the nights and days that follow…

magical feet

magic of my feet made me walk

miles and miles of unknown roads

highways of futures unwritten

quoted signboards

quenched thirsts of wells forgotten by middle ages

wings that made the motors fly

free of steering wheels

brakes those forgot the feel of human foot

yet the walk happened for

my feet knew by heart

the magic of walk

miles and miles of walk…

shall we go somewhere this evening

shall we go where evenings stay young

where they don’t fall into traps of nights

silent dark silhouettes of imposing nights

shall we go where they call out our names

where we are not subjugated to terms related by blood

where when we look up from reading our books

we rise to compile lives, not the words or syllables

shall we go where we reach yet we stay imbibed in journey

where even if we reach, we reach nowhere

shall we sit holding hands and joining shoulders

whence we feel the need to get up, we stay united

shall we live longer than we are destined to

shall we die young and let not grow our bones brittle

shall we look straight and let days pass by knowingly

where nights don’t merge into mornings

they stay separated bright as the stars in my eyes…

sing or write

lonely leaves of this red plant
swayed with the breeze
and whispered aloud
we shall fall or we might stay put
fold your hands or spread them in consecration
pray, sing, read, write, recite or walk
we shall abide by your soul
we shall nourish all your thoughts
we shall keep you abreast
of all times bad or good
be with us and be with yourself
sing and write
let your minion do your bidding
keep your dreams free of fear…

The rain

looking at the pouring rain I feel dwarfed

I inhale the essence of stray droplets on my palm

and I feel established within me

I look up to peep through the droplets

that cause my world to blur.

That streak of yearning

strays with the scattering twilight

chalks out a beam of wishes.

Strange are the ways of life.

I search for you in words

spoken and unspoken

I find you smiling where I never looked

am I surprised?

yes and no…
