The book will be released by the acclaimed film maker and social activist, Shohini Ghosh. Shohini Ghosh

Shohini Ghosh is Professor Zakir Hussain Chair. She completed her Masters from AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia and MPS from Department of Communication, Cornell University, USA and started teaching at the MCRC from 1990. She has been Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Communication, Cornell University, USA (1990-1996); Globalization-McArthur Fellow at the University of Chicago, Fellow at the Gender, Sexuality and Law Research Group of the Law Department at Keele University, UK and Visiting Professor to the Summer Institute on Sexuality, Culture and Society, International School for Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She is co-founder of Mediastorm Collective, India’s first all women documentary production collective which received the Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Work among Women Media Professionals in 1992.  Ghosh writes extensively on popular culture and the media for both academic journals and the popular press.

Mahmood FarooquiMahmood Farooqui

Mahmood Farooqui was educated at the Universities of Delhi, Oxford and Cambridge (UK) from where he holds an M Phil in Oriental Studies. He has been a journalist and a newspaper columnist. Over the last seven years he has effected a major revival of Dastangoi. He is the author of Dastangoi (the book) and ‘Besieged: Voices from Delhi, 1857’ (Penguin, 2010).

Obaid SiddiquiObaid Siddiqui

Professor Obaid Siddiqui, a prominent Urdu poet and broadcaster. He had been with BBC for close to ten years, later joined NDTV and presently is the Director, MCRC, Jamia Millia islamia university. He also anchored an hour long weekly talk show Hamaare Masaail on ETV Urdu.

Mukul Jain Mukul Jain

Mukul Jain is a television journalist and documentary film maker. She has worked with New Delhi television as a reporter and output editor. She has also work with Vinod Dua’s television show Parakh and Sahara Samay news channel as head of output. Mukul has made several documentary films on disaster management.

Urmila RaoUrmila Rao

Urmila Rao, a journalist of seven years, specializes in higher education, which has always been close to her heart. Having also written on various other subjects in the past, including real estate, and retail, her goal is to inform and stimulate the minds of people through her articles. She left her corporate career of five years to join journalism, starting out from scratch. Presently working as a Special Correspondent with Careers 360 magazine, she has unearthed some interesting stories from the field of higher education. She also tracks the sector through her blog : varsityfocus.com

Ghazala SiddiqiGhazala Siddiqi

Ghazala Siddiqi teaches English at Jamia Millia Islamia and is a Cambridge ESOL Examiner with the British Council. She conducts teacher training programmes for the American Centre and various other organizations at the national level. She is a post graduate in English and Sociology and is currently engaged in Research work on Materials Development for ELT classes. Her poems and aricles have been published in national and international journals.

A television journalist turned writer I have been writing short stories and poetry for almost twenty five years. Masters in Physics and Education, turned to Television journalism and gradually shifted to full time writing. Taught physics for a year at University of agriculture. Meanwhile worked for All India Radio as announcer. Reported for “Parakh” and later worked with NDTV. Got into professional writing somewhere along the line. Have also produced documentaries for television and radio.
